I'm Eva and I'm running for San Leandro City Council, District 1.
I am not a professional politician. I am a neighbor like you. I am running for office because San Leandro should be one of the best cities in the Bay Area.
My qualifications include having over 10 years of experience in technical management, budgeting, and forecasting, in addition to volunteering and in the arts.
Our City is facing a fiscal crisis due to rising pension costs, our region is experiencing a severe housing crisis and climate change threatens our planet. I will bring much needed ethical fiscal common sense, transparency and sound management practices to City Hall. Dramatically increasing rents are driving San Leandro seniors and working families away. I will fight for rent control. We can reduce traffic congestion and greenhouse emissions by installing dedicated bike lanes across San Leandro and expanding the service area of the City’s free bus shuttle. San Leandro needs a Trader Joe’s, Sprouts or other quality grocery store and reliable, free public WiFi. These are important for our quality of life. So too is proactively addressing rising thefts and burglaries with increased neighborhood police patrols during the daytime. Finally, our children are our future. I will dedicate myself to helping our schools succeed.
